Facial Fitness: An Alternative to the Facelift

As we age, our skin becomes drier and less supple. It loses its elasticity. As time passes the skin gets thinner. Aging does that. There is, of course, a whole industry dedicated to the science of anti-aging. People dedicate their lives to come up with miracle creams that banish wrinkles and unsightly liver spots an freckles. And then there’s plastic surgery. It’s an expensive option, but it’s one that many people are considering, given the results. Youth is always equated with beauty. It’s a simple fact. So, women all over the world are trying desperately to cling to their youth in any way possible. They spend fortunes on obscure treatments and little vials supposedly filled with magic potions.
There are less costly and less invasive ways to give your skin a boost, making you look younger and more vibrant all at once. Surgery, after all, can be dangerous, not to mention hard on the pocket book, and creams are often a gamble.
There’s a little thing called facial fitness which is becoming increasingly popular as a way to regain that glowing, youthful appearance. Facial fitness takes only a few minutes and it can be down anywhere at any time.
The idea is that you work the muscles of your face to prevent them from drooping and reducing the effects of gravity. It’s like working the muscles of your body. When you work out, you notice better muscle tone and definition—you look better. The same goes for facial fitness.
There are different facial exercise regimens, but there are all fairly simple in and of themselves. It’s not strenuous work.
Exercises include squeezing your eyes shut and sliding your thumbs towards your temples from the corner of your eyes. Repeat ten times. This helps to eliminate crow’s feet. Another exercise involves placing your fingers below your jaw line, tilting your head back and curling your bottom lip over your top lip. At the same time, you want to move your fingers across the jaw line and squeeze the cheek muscles tightly. Repeat five times. This helps to get rid of jowls.
While these exercises may sound strange, they do help give your face a more youthful appearance. Give it a try.
